Northern Cyprus holiday villas may not be such a great idea. If you are considering either purchasing or renting a holiday villa in the North of Cyprus you may want to think again before you proceed. The chances are that you will have been offered a great deal on Northern Cyprus holiday villas but you should ask your self why?

There is no doubt that the North of Cyprus is the most beautiful part of the Island and well worth a visit. It may not however be the ideal location for a full blown holiday. There are a couple of things you should consider before taking up any offers of Northern Cyprus holiday villas.

Firstly there is still very little supporting infrastructure in the North such as shops and other tourist facilities. Lots of brand new developments have been thrown up but the economy in the North is still not sufficient to support the expected influx of buyers of these Northern Cyprus holiday villas.

More importantly the only people that recognize the state of Northern Cyprus are the Turks themselves. In fact most other countries operate trade embargoes with Northern Cyprus and do not accept the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus as legal.

So beware before you are tempted to book Northern Cyprus holiday villas or purchase any property North of the border or you could end up in a legal wrangle. Further more the ownership of property and land is still being disputed by many Greek Cypriots who fled the Turkish invasion over thirty years ago leaving everything behind. Think hard before you book Northern Cyprus holiday villas!
